I spent my Sunday trying to get a reservation at The Grape on Greenville Ave. I love their brunch and tried to get a reservation for 7 yesterday afternoon. I was turned down and told the earliest the could get me in was 5:30. Although great for business, it was bad for me as I was craving Texas Monthly’s pick for #1 Best Burger in Texas. I ended up going to dinner at 6:30 and all I have to say to describe my experience is one word… SCRUMPTIOUS
It was a perfect marriage of juicy ground beef, aged white cheddar, homemade bacon, with a homemade Dijon spread, on a freshly toasted bun.
Although I cannot claim it as the Best Burger I have ever had, I can only name one in contention from my past burger experiences. For $12, it truly was a fine burger from a non-burger joint. Also, it was worth the wait until Sunday, as that is the only day it is served. If you go for dinner make sure you reserve a burger when you call to make your reservation and tell them Brandon Tomes sent you.
